From My Healing Journey to Yours

I’m Poonam

  • An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach helps clients make sustainable lifestyle changes to reach their wellness goals. Trained in a holistic, evidence-based approach, they empower individuals to adopt health-promoting habits that work for their unique needs. By providing guidance and support, they help create lasting behavior change for improved overall well-being.

As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, my role goes beyond just food and nutrition—I support clients in creating a balanced, fulfilling life. Health isn’t just about what’s on your plate; it’s also about relationships, career, movement, mindset, and overall well-being. In many ways, an IIN Health Coach also acts as a life coach, helping clients identify and break through limiting beliefs, set meaningful goals, and cultivate sustainable habits that nourish both body and mind. By guiding clients to align their daily choices with their personal values and desires, I empower them to take control of their health and happiness—without guilt, restriction, or overwhelm.

My passion for this work comes from my own health journey—the struggles, the frustration, and the wish that I had someone to guide me when I needed it most. I know firsthand how easy it is to feel lost or disconnected, especially when juggling the demands of a corporate career. It can be challenging to prioritize health and lifestyle balance when stress and routine take over. But I also know that when we find purpose and passion in our lives, everything shifts—we feel more fulfilled, more energized, and more connected to ourselves mentally, physically, and spiritually.

That’s why I became an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach through IIN—to be the support system I once needed and to help others take control of their health in a way that works for them. Whether you’re looking to improve your nutrition, build a positive relationship with food and exercise, or find balance amidst a busy lifestyle, I’d love the opportunity to support you on your journey.

  • For years, my mind, body, and spirit told me I needed a change. After multiple medical diagnoses, I realized I had to take a different approach to my well-being. I explored various jobs, medical treatments, diets, exercise routines, and self-care practices—each a steppingstone on my journey. But I eventually understood that fixing one issue at a time wasn’t enough—I needed a holistic approach to truly transform my life.

A major breakthrough came when I found medical professionals who took the time to ask questions and dig deeper into the root causes of my health issues. In today’s world, advocating for your own health is essential, and I had to keep searching for answers. After more than 10 years, I discovered that my GI issues weren’t physical but largely driven by anxiety—anxiety around body image, weight loss, eating, and medical fatigue.

Accepting treatment for my anxiety and working with a nutrition therapist to heal my relationship with food was life-changing. I overcame deep-rooted body image and eating disorder struggles, learning to see food as nourishment, energy, and self-care rather than something to fear. By shifting my mindset and breaking old patterns, I finally found balance and self-acceptance.

Another key influence was my life coach, who helped me break through personal barriers, reduce stress and anxiety, and rediscover my purpose. She guided me in self-healing through touch, introduced tools to manage anxiety, and supported my spiritual and personal growth—leading me to my true calling as a health coach.

My transformation was also deeply impacted by working with a personal trainer and nutrition coach. They helped me build strength—not just physically, but mentally—by teaching me how to exercise in a way that felt empowering rather than punishing. They also showed me how to create manageable habits, enjoy the foods I love, and still meet my health goals.

I’ve learned that growth requires openness to change. As we evolve, our needs shift, and we must adapt to align with who we are becoming. It’s not always easy, but knowing others are on the same journey makes a difference. Change isn’t something to fear—it’s an opportunity to discover new possibilities.

Now, as a health coach, I want to be an advocate for you. I want to help you navigate your wellness journey, work alongside your health practitioners, and make the changes you need to live a healthier, happier life.

  • Beyond health coaching, I’ve spent the last 12 years as an accountant and continue to work full-time in the corporate world. In my free time, I love spending time with friends and family—whether it’s cooking for gatherings, crafting for my nieces and nephews, or simply enjoying quality moments together.

Travel is another passion of mine, and I love exploring new places around the world. However, nothing brings me more peace than being in nature, surrounded by beautiful, scenic landscapes.

As I transition into health coaching, one of my goals is to offer meal planning and prepping services in the future. I believe that food is more than just fuel—it’s an expression of love, care, and healing. I hope that one day, the same intention and joy I put into my cooking can bring nourishment and wellness into your life, too.
